DIAPHRAGM
Aug 30th
The diaphragm is a gap in the lens (aperture shutter) that functions as a regulator of the amount of the light that enters the camera and recorded on film.
Lens aperture is set according to the need, expressed by the number “f” (fenestra), called as “f / stop”, ie: f / 1 – f / 1.4 – f / 2 until f / 22.

Aperture
Diaphragm related with the DoF (Depth of Field), the room in front of and behind the object that are still included in the range of focus.
As the aperture number become smaller, the diaphragm gap become bigger, so the amount of the incoming light becomes more. Small diaphragm will create a deeper depth of field so it could produce a sharper image, foreground and background blur. Small diaphragm is suitable for shooting an object with the background scenery.
However, if the number is greater, the diaphragm gap become smaller, so the amount of the incoming light become less. Large diaphragm will create shallower depth of field so that all object(s) in the picture looks sharp. Suitable for studio shooting.
Memory Card
Jul 30th
In a digital camera, the incoming light is recorded by the sensor and stored in data storage media (MEMORY CARD).
Here are some kinds of data storage media that often used in digital cameras.
1. Compact Flash (CF)

Compact Flash
Compact Flash (CF) may be said an early form of memory card, first lauched by SanDisk in 1994, and was the memory card that widely used in digital cameras. Compact Flash has a variety of capacities, ranging from the smallest 128MB, up to the largest 32MB.

Camera Digital Sensor
Jul 1st
Today, digital technology is slowly replacing analog systems (manual).

With digital technology, digital cameras do not use film as a medium for recording images. In digital cameras, the intensity of light that enter through the lens recorded by the sensor image recorder, whose function is to convert light into electronic signals which are then stored on the memory card in the form of digital data (binary code).
Resolution, sensitivity, or sensitivity in capturing the light to be one important factor in determining digital cameras product quality.
There are two types of Digital Sensor:

Lunar Eclipse 16 June 2011
Jun 16th
Yesterday, on June 15, 2011, I heard the news that the total lunar eclipse will occur on June 16, 2011 early morning, in my home area, precisely in Jakarta, Indonesia. I certainly do not want to miss this opportunity. At around 1 am, I’ve set up my camera and my tripod on my backyard to welcome the arrival of a total lunar eclipse. I waited about 2 hours and finally…. Around 3 am, the total lunar eclipse appeared. Without waiting longer, I immediately hit my camera shutter button. The total lunar eclipse was visible only around 5 to 10 minutes, then disappeared. Luckily, I could get some pictures of the lunar eclipse, and this is the best photo that I got.

Film

Film
When the technology of photography using a conventional camera (Analog), the film becomes a very important part
because the film is an image recording media.
But with the development of digital camera technology, the film a little bit forgotten. In digital cameras, image recording media are not using film anymore, but the images are recorded by sensors is stored directly to the memory card.
With the film media, photography becomes expensive hobby. Besides limited by the amount of shot, and the resulting images still have to pass through the quite long printing process, the image recorded on film can not be directly processed. Different from the digital technology that uses memory cards, the resulting picture can be viewed and processed directly in the computer, and the numbers of shot was not limited. And also, in digital technology , if the resulting image is not good , you can simply delete it.
The film is a thin plate with a mixture of substance (emulsion) that is very sensitive to light. That’s why the film should be stored in a dark box or tube (Roll), which was not exposed to light.
There are several types of films, including:

Four Basic Things in Photography
Apr 16th
In music, we know of seven tones, namely C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. But in photography requires only 4 of them, namely C, D, E, and F. They are Composition, Depth of field, Exposure, and Focus.
1. COMPOSITION
Composition is the regularity of the image in a photograph. There are 3 types of composition in photography, namely Death Center, Rule of the Third, and Negative Space

Now you can access RNC Photograph after about 3 months could not be visited. Along with the reopening of this website, I want to promote a new logo design of RNC Photograph.
The old logo still used for the watermark of the photo works. This is the old logo of RNC Photograph.
And here’s an example of the photoworks that has been watermarked.

How to Hold the Camera ?
Nov 1st

For the security of the camera, wear the camera strap on your neck as a medal. If the camera strap still too long, wrap some of them on your right wrist. That way, when the rope loose from the neck, the right hand can still keep the camera, so it doesn’t fall. Right hand holding the camera grip, left hand holding the camera while playing a zoom on the lens, if you use the zoom lens. Do not handle or rotate the focus ring unless you are looking for manual focus. If you rotate the focus ring on the auto focus (AF) mode, auto focus facility on the lens will be damaged. When shooting with low shutter speeds, your movement might make the camera shake. That’s fair, because when fully pressed the shutter button, your finger will cause a reaction on camera. If your left hand not holding the reaction, the camera was shaking and the picture becomes out of focus. Hand strength to hold the reaction is different. There are people who can not withstand of the shutter speed 1 / 10 second or slower. But there is also can not withstand shutter speed 1 / 30 second or slower. Especially if the body limp and have not had lunch. Please test your own abilities. Take pictures of any stationary object with different shutter speeds, ranging from 1 / 100 second to 1 second. The camera will usually bring up a warning if the risk of movement on shutter speeds slower than 1 / 60 second. In such conditions, place your left elbow on your chest or your body. Just before pressing the shutter, hold your breath a while, then snap and breathe again. See the results on the LCD screen and zoom the image maximum extent possible. Now you know the shutter speed that you can tolerate to keep the camera not moving. If you think that you should take pictures with very low speed, use a tripod or monopod. If no, find a table, pole, or even your foot as the cantilever of the camera. Poles and walls can also be used to be the back rest.
